Umag
Old town core on the small peninsula and newer part of town on mainland was built on foundation of old Roman ruins; during Middle Ages it was the feudal estate of bishops of Trieste. With narrow, zigzag streets and picturesque squares, Umag shows off typical medieval urban architecture. Parts of old medieval wall have been preserved. Baroque parish church has been built in 18th century and the organ has been built in 1776.

Beaches
If you like a sandy beach, or you have small children … 300m down the road on the left there is Slovenian beach, with shallow sandy bank that outstretches for 50m.
If you like a rocky beach … take your car or a bike and drive 1km turning right into Albere. There you can dive from the steep rocks into the clear blue sea.
If you like a pebbly beach… 3km to your right is Kanegra.
FKK Polynesia is situated 1km on the left from the house, if you prefer nudism.
If you like solitude ... 200m bellow the house you can find your own hidden oasis.

Restaurants and Wine cellars
Coming out of Monteneto one can find a variety of pizzerias, sea food restaurants and grill joints. We recommend De Grassi wine cellar (800m on the right) and their superb Malvazija, and many other wine cellars in the vicinity.
If you want to taste fragrances of Istrian cuisine – gnocchi, truffles, ombolo (traditional pork cutlet) – over 100 restaurants and taverns (konoba) in the vicinity offer traditional meals made the way their grandmas used to do.
